With such numbers coming in, there is no way investing in football or any other sport can be looked at as "not lucrative" anymore. With such numbers means that all clubs that invested much in football will reap fruits. This also means that countries missing out on the world cup are not just missing celebrations, they're missing out on money.
Not just money taken by national teams, but also missing out from their clubs in their national leagues not fielding any world cup players. For context, if Uganda went for the world cup, it is not just the federation that would get money directly, Clubs with players for example KCCA and Vipers who field 4 or 5 players on the national team would walk away with over a million dollar for having fielded players in the world cup.
How nice!
