Matchday 28 of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) delivered drama, resilience, and tight scorelines as teams fought hard to secure crucial points in the closing stretch of the 2025/26 season. With only two games left to play, both ends of the table are taking shape, Vipers SC remain in command at the top, while the race for continental slots and survival intensifies.

At the top of the table, defending champions Vipers SC were frustrated by a determined Police FC, settling for a 0-0 draw in Kamwokya. Despite dominating possession, Vipers found it difficult to penetrate a disciplined Police defense. The draw sees Vipers maintain their lead with 61 points, while Police stay seventh on 45 points a commendable position for a side that has shown marked improvement this season.

Elsewhere, KCCA FC reignited their outside hopes of catching the leaders with a narrow 2–1 victory over UPDF FC at Lugogo. Goals from Etienne Katenga and Anyama Emmanuel kept KCCA in the chase, though Vipers’ draw means the gap has reduced to 3points. KCCA FC sit at 58 points just 3 ponts behind Vipers.

At the other end of the table, Buhimba saints did not show up for their game against NEC FC and the results of that will be communicated by the league executive. Another case of struggle in the Uganda Premier League and it is heartbreaking to see that there is teams that can forfeit matches in our top flight national league football.

Express Fc fought to go home with the three points against Kitara as Kitara’s 2 goal efforts to comeback fell short of the three goals scored by Express.

URA FC and bottom half Calvary ended 1–1 in a much contested draw, showcasing two sides evenly matched in both form and quality a big praise for Calvary Fc. The first half goals  from URA’s Ronald Otti scored the only goal URA FC scored in the 26th minute cancelled out by Calvary that scored in the 41st minute.
